After the storm
Lochgoilhead Village
Storm Eowyn brought well-publicised chaos to the UK and Ireland. It's the small stories of recovery that fascinate me; many locally are still without power and all are somehow finding ways to cope and to stay warm and fed. Our home was without power for more than 36 hours. The mobile service went down not long into the darkness. Camping gear and a degree of preparedness (power banks, stoves, and the like), helped to temper the inconvenience, for a while at least.
Thanks to the emergency services, farmers with chainsaws, and the energy companies, we're now warm again and the clear up can begin. We were luckier than many - I do hope that wherever you are, you are safe and sound.
