From Hobby to Professional Photography
Loch Ard
The transition to semi-professional photography from it simply being a pastime was more of a gentle shift in gears than a first day at work thing. Being technically retired from the demands of a ‘normal’, everyday working life, the motivation for my photography business has more to do with a desire for others to enjoy my work, than a pure profit motive. Don’t get me wrong; I do intend to at least try to recoup the ongoing and significant investment we photographers make in equipment, and perhaps make a little to take my business even further, but for now, it’s about realistic expectations.
I do hope that whoever you are, you find some pleasure from my work. I know I do.
